Shogi[]
The Kinshō, or Gold General, is a first class soldier. Many pieces promote to one in most variants. In regular shogi the Pawn, Lance, Knight and Silver General all promote into a gold general. It can move one space in any direction save backward diagonals, giving him six movement possibilities.
Chu Shogi[]
This piece is rather different. Moves are the same, but this piece only promotes from the pawn, and it does have a promotion itself: the rook.
